About Amoreira
Covering 25 km², Amoreira is one of the seven parishes of Óbidos. Its mineral wealth made it a busy place, and King Manuel I recognised its importance by raising it to the status of town on 14 September 1512.
The town belonged to the House of the Queens and once had its own Misericórdia, hospital and bullring.
