About the gallery
The NovaOgiva Gallery was founded in 1970 by the sculptor José Aurélio, the same year as the Municipal Museum.
After three decades of inactivity, it is now an open door to contemporary art, with temporary exhibitions, collections and shows that keep art and culture part of daily life in Óbidos.

Óbidos Museums and Galleries Network
The gallery is part of the network, with the Municipal Museum, the Parish Museum and the Abílio de Mattos e Silva Museum. Entry to all of them is free.

During the literary festival, the gallery also hosts exhibitions, screenings and performances.

Getting there
Óbidos is about 45 minutes from Lisbon on the A8 motorway. The museums are inside the walls, a short walk from the Porta da Vila.
Parking
Cars cannot enter the walled village freely. Use the car parks outside the walls and walk in.
