Frutóbidos Sour Cherry liquor
We visited Frutóbidos Sour Cherry liquor factory on a hot day and it was the cherry that refreshed us at the end of it. Frutóbidos is a company specializing in Ginja Liquor where it developed the brand Ginja D’Arte, and today with the knowledge acquired by working with the fruit works on its derivations such as biscuits, infusions, cookies, sweets, gums or teas.
Always well accompanied we were given a guided tour of the facilities that allow the visitor to get to know the origin of Ginja in Óbidos until the point of opening the company, a history of knowledge and love.
At the same time as the story unfolds, we get to know the process of making Ginja Liquor until its packaging, which is completely handmade.
In this well spent hour, we realized that when we taste the bittersweet and fruity “Ginijnha”, so called by the Portuguese, that the Ginja Liquor Vila das Rainhas (brand developed by Frutóbidos) is the fruit of great passion, and the knowledge of a group of people who wanted to bet on what the region had to offer.
With the glass in hand, we are reminded again of the importance of the company having kept the original formula in a process in which the dyes and flavorings do not enter, and that the ideal temperature for the liquor to be consumed should be between 14ºC or 15ºC .
With a velvety flavor and an extravagant ruby color, we realized that the Vila das Rainha liqueur is a genuine experience that the village of Óbidos has to offer, which makes this western point its stop.
